RE: rod licence

a enviroment agency rod licence, this is required if you want to go fishing, it only covers two rods. a rod licence is valid from 1st april till 31st march, the price is £26, juniours is £5.00, o.a.p and disabled is £17.50, junior is available to anglers aged 12 to 16 years inclusive, senior concession is available to anglers aged 65 years and over, disabled concession is available to anglers in receipt of a Blue Badge or Disability Living Allowance. You will need to provide your Blue Badge Number or National Insurance Number when buying your licence. remember anyone caught fishing without a rod licence could be fined upto £2500 and have their car and fishing equipment confiscated.

Post office will sell you one, you pay and the licence will come through the post. While you are waiting for the licence to arrive you can fish as long as you have the post office receipt with you.

You can also apply online at the Environment Agency and again if you print out the receipt you are legal to fish until your licence arrives.
