11th May 2008 - Silver Fish
Seniors £5 entry - Juniors £2 - Optional £1 Golden Peg
Draw your peg at 9am
Fish 10am - 3pm

All welcome (with your permit please), this is a silver fish match which means all carp landed over 1lb will only count as 1lb, i.e. a carp of 10lb will only class as 1lb. Crucian carp count as silver fish to avoid confusion!

Usual rules apply, see permit.

Anybody wishing to fish the matches who do not possess a keepnet then please let me know as all the regular match lads have at least one spare one.
UPDATE:
It has now been decided at committee level that all Carp (except crucian carp) will not be counted in the silver matches what so ever. However, green tench, motley pike, ugly catfish, flat flounders, slimey eels and anything else that swims will do.
Answers on a postcard please......
Result:

1) David "Bagger is Back" Lloyd 6lb 8oz
2) Ryan "New kid on the block" Kempson 2lb
3) Peter "Foul Hooker" Symeon 1lb 10oz

Weather was too hot and sunny for any serious weights in the open water pegs as most of the smaller fish sheltered in the reeds. There were literally hundreds of large carp just cruising round all morning enjoying the sun but smaller fish were hard to find. First and Third came from corner pegs where there was some form of cover and it was unfortunate that Peg 10 was not drawn as this would of proved a good peg on the day. The majority of fish caught were tench up to 1.5lb but there were quite a few smaller roach netted.
