Fleetwood Reservoir Forums

We have had a water survey done on the reservoir, as is has been stated on the site page. We have been getting reports from differant people in the club and outside of the club ,about the putting of fish into the res (ei pike ,and also of are carp being taken out ).So on tuesday 26th feb 2008 we employed a fisheiries consultant from Glostershire MR ANDREW ELLIS,he works in line with the environment agency,and nets a lot of the big named commercial fishereis around the country.He gave us a lot infromation on the the stocking of the res and of the plants and the welfare the fish and on the stocking levels of certian spiceis of fish to keep the balance of the water right.we are taking his adivice in the next few weeks ,we are going to introduce up to two tons of rotted horse manure to kick start the growth of the plants ,and also start get the micro organisams working as well.He as also told us that we need to get lots of vegertation around the margins of the water to encourage the smaller fish (roach perch skimmers and carp) to come into the margins.It all helps to a better fishery and better catches hopfully.
