fished an away match at whitmore last sunday ,6th january .fished the match canal at the back of the complex ,only 12 meters across (easy fishing ) anyway it was cold and not much doing till about 1 oclock .then i hooked what i thought was a foul hooked carp (surprize surprize) it was a perch of 3pounds 12 ozs one big perch or so i thought till a mate of mine had one of 4 pounds just three pegs to my left . at the weigh in there was another perch of three pounds four ozs,thats over eleven pounds for the three fish not bad in any bodys books .will try for them again some time i think. by the way its the whitemore at kirkham on the one in staffordshire.

Thats a bloody nice perch Al!!!......Ive fancied trying whitmore in the past but always end up at the usual haunts.Deffo wouldnt mind having a dabble there sometime tho.By the way are there pike/carp there?

hi dubz ,no pike at whitemore but there are lots of carp. some of the carp are of a good size but as far as i no not as big as the res carp ,plenty of other mixed fish ( barbel perch roach bream and so on ) .hope this helps .

Cool Please can i ask which peg you were on because i usually go to Whitmore but fish on the doughnut lake but after you and your mates catching big perch i might try for one myself. Went to whitmore in late October last year
and put my line on my peg in front of my chair and i went to the loo , a gust of wind must of cought it and blew my line and a piece of sweetcorn into the water and when i was walking out i saw my rod bending over like mad (my dad couldn't do anything he had a 4 lb barbel on)so i ran like my life was depending on it and my dad was shouting me i got there and struck and when i finally got it in it was a 9.5 lb mirror carp , i was the most pleased kid on the whole comlex.....!! sorry about the delay in anwsering mate. i was on the canal at the back of whitemore on peg 5 half way across ,fed plenty of pinkies and fish maggot on the hook on the bottom. good luck.
